The Stomping Jacks are a rhythm-fueled blues-funk-rock revival from Shrewsbury, UK, bringing raw grooves, old-school swagger and electrifying showmanship to every stage.

Formed in 2025, the band is powered by five distinct personalities: Kid Rory (Rory Smith), a magnetic frontman who stomps, spins and howls through every set; Bassboy Billy (Billy Clapham), whose smooth, elastic basslines anchor the sound; Joe Weatherall, a lead guitarist with fire in his fingers and harmony in his heart; 'Magic' Mike Jones, who delivers irresistible style through every groove and lets his sax do the talking; and Liam Gillespie, the rock-solid drummer who keeps it grounded with crisp, no-nonsense beats.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Sonny Boy Williamson, Dr. Feelgood, Little Walter, James Brown, The Meters and The Rolling Stones, The Stomping Jacks craft a sound that’s simple, soulful and sharp-edged. It’s blues with bite, funk with grit and rock with real roots.

Rory and Billy bring years of rhythmic chemistry from their time in Little Wing and The Paprika Blues Band, while the band as a whole cut their teeth together around Shrewsbury's eclectic music venues. The group's collective reputation across the West Midlands has sparked an early buzz. Their sharp musicianship, high energy performances and fearless embrace of raw, vintage style are quickly earning them a devoted local following.
