The Stomping Jacks are a rhythm-fueled blues, funk, rock and soul revival from Shrewsbury, UK, bringing raw grooves, old-school swagger and electrifying showmanship to every stage.

Formed in 2025, the band is powered by five distinct personalities: Kid Rory Smith, a magnetic frontman who stomps, spins and howls through every set; Joe Weatherall, a lead guitarist with fire in his fingers and harmony in his heart; Guy Turner, whose grounding, solid basslines anchor the sound; 'Magic' Mike Jones, who delivers irresistible style through every saxophone groove; and Liam Gillespie, the rock-solid drummer who keeps it moving with crisp, no-nonsense beats.

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Sonny Boy Williamson, Dr. Feelgood, The Beatles, Al Green, Little Walter, James Brown, The Meters and The Rolling Stones, The Stomping Jacks craft a sound that’s sophisticated, soulful and ahead of their years. Consisting of seasoned musicians with years’ experience playing across the UK, the band cut its teeth around Shrewsbury's eclectic music venues, having met in a bar before Rory brought the five together. Their collective reputation across the West Midlands has sparked an early buzz, with sharp musicianship, high energy performances and fearless embrace of raw, vintage style with contemporary energy. Their prowess has quickly earned them a devoted local following.
